SALAM AIDIL FITRI

Assalamualaikum.. It's been a long time since I last posted something on this blog.. And today is 19th Syawal 1429.. It's still in Syawal, so, on behalf of all the Muslim students(IB) in Sri KDU would like to wish all of you, Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. Alhamdulillah, we had finished our responsibility in Ramadhan with all the barakah that Allah gave. Thank you, Allah..

During Ramadhan, we had a talk, given by Ikhwan Zhaki, reminding us all about the nikmat and barakah that Allah gives during Ramadhan. All of the students were there and we had a long talk.

Today, I would like to give some of the information about Syawal. What we can do during Syawal.. If you already knew, good. It's not too late for us to do it, since it is only 19th Syawal. 11 days to go before we leave Sywal. But if this is new to you, Alhamdulillah. They are:

1. Fasting for six days in Syawal - It doesnt have to be six days in a row. Rasulullah s.a.w. once said that "If a Musilm fasts for a month in Ramadhan, followed by six days in Syawal, it is like he/she has fasted for a year".

Hmm.. That is the only amalan sunat during Syawal that I know, other than 1st Syawal that are:

a) Membayar zakat fitrah sebelum menunaikan Solat Aidil Fitri
b) Menghias diri dan tempat tinggal supaya kelihatan bersih dan cantik
c) Mandi Sunat Aidilfitri pada pagi harinya
d) Menjamah sedikit makanan sebelum keluar menuju masjid

Okay. I think enough for today. Remember, we have another 11 days before we leave Syawal.. Use the time wisely.. Allah will help us to, if our niat is to beribadah kepadaNya. InsyaAllah.. See you next time.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN!!

Islam for a Better Life

Islam teaches us that true happiness can only being obtained by living a life full of God-consciousness and being satisfied with what Allah s.w.t. has given us. We have to be very grateful. Very2 grateful..

Additionally, true "freedom" is freedom from being controlled by our base human desires and being ruled by man-made ideologies. This stands in stark contrast to the view of many people in the modern world, who consider "freedom" to be the ability to satisfy all of their desires without inhibition. Most of us nowadays are thinking too many about duniawi and we will work hard just to make sure that we can get all the material things that we need. We forgot that we live, only because of Allah.

The clear and comprehensive guidance of Islam gives human-beings a well-defined purpose and direction in life. In addition to being members of the human-brotherhood of Islam, its well-balanced and practical teachings are a source of spiritual comfort, guidance and morality. A direct and clear relationship with Almighty God, as well as the sense of purpose and belonging that ones feels as a Muslim, frees a person from the many worries of everyday life.

The Islamic way of life is pure and wholesome. It builds self-discipline and self-control thought regular prayer and fasting, and frees human-beings from superstition and all sorts of racial, ethnic and national prejudices. By accepting to live a God-conscious life, and realizing that the only thing that distinguishes people in the sight of God is their consciousness of Him, a person's true human dignity is realized.

Let us all set our nawaitu again. Believe that Allah gives us everything that we have today because He knows what is best for His slaves.

Remember : Inna solati, wanusuki, wamahyaya, wamamati, Lillahirabbil 'alamin..

Kesilapan Yang Sering Berlaku

Parents

There are many days set by the non-Islamic societies to appreciate and honour special people like Mother's day and Father's Day,recently. In Islam, honouring and appreciating our parents is not only on certain days, as it is our daily basis. It is our duty to appreciate them.

Allah mentions that we must recognise their parents and that this is second only to the recognition of Allah Himself. Throughout the Quran, we notice that parents are mentioned with appreciation and respect, even if they are senile.

Bismillahir rahmanil rahim
"And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as] 'uff' [i.e., an expression of irritation or disapproval] and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say: 'My Lord! Have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.'" [Quran 17:23-24]

It is a very beautiful description of how parents are to be treated. So, let us all reflect ourselves. What we have done to them, since the day we learnt how to walk and talk, until today. Kiss them, give them a hug, and tell them that WE LOVE THEM and WE DO NEED THEM.

But if they're not here anymore, we can : -

1. Perform our daily Du'a for them.
2. Give charity on their behalf.
3. Institute a perpetual charity on their behalf, such as a mosque, an Islamic Centre & etc.

4. Perform Hajj on their behalf, or ask someone to do so.
5. Distribute Islamic literature on their behalf.

Learning the Art of Reciting Du'a...

Assalamualaikum.

We recite du'a, almost everyday after we pray and especially if we are in danger or difficulties. We will remember Allah the most when we are in trouble. Take a few minutes to think about it, LATER, NOT NOW, because that is not the point that I'd like to highlight for today.

Now, imagine ourselves, sitting on the sejadah and we're ready to recite our du'a. But WAIT!! Look at the way we're sitting. The way we raise our hands. Hold on there!

Du'a is considered to be the most noble act in the sight of Allah. So, it is very important for us to learn the art of reciting Du'a. :)

Ettiquettes of Du'a :
  • Praise Allah s.w.t. before the Du'a and pray upon Muhammad s.a.w. ~ We have to praise Allah and always remember that we are His slaves. We are nothing, compared to Him. Be humble with Him.
  • Raise our hands PROPERLY ~ Our hands should be raised up to the shoulders with palms placed together. Our palms can either be turned up facing the skies OR our palms facing our face
  • Facing the Qiblah
  • Acknowledge our sins
  • Implore God Earnestly
  • Be determine in our request
  • Pray with humility and fear

Let us all recite our du'a properly. It is our only chance to 'talk' to Allah. He will listen and who knows, He may fulfill our du'a at that very moment. InsyaAllah..

Patience, Perseverance and Prayer

Assalamualaikum.

Important messages that we HAVE to receive after finished reading this post:

  • Always be patient eventhough you're in trouble
  • Everything that happened has its own hikmah
  • Keep our faith in Allah
  • Ber'zikir' instead of cursing
  • Be grateful with whatever we have
During times of deep trial and sadness, we seek comfort and guidance in the words of Allah in the Al-Quran. Allah reminds us that all people will be tried and tested in life, and calls upon Muslims to bear these trials with "patient, perseverance and prayer".
Actually, it is not only us, because Allah also reminds us that many people before us have suffered and had their faith tested. We must always be patient, confronting with any difficulties, for there MUST be hikmah, behind all the things happened. Maybe we just could not find it at that time, because we are too busy thinking of getting away from the problems.

There is a perfect verse that reminds us to be patient an trust in Allah during these times of trial.

Bismillahir rahmanil rahim
"Oh you, who believe! Seek help with patient, perseverance and prayer, for God is with those who patiently persevere." (2:153)
~ Innallaha Ma'al Sobiriin. Sesungguhnya Allah bersama-sama orang yang sabar. ~

But for most of us, including myself, instead of ber'zikir', we always choose to curse when we face difficulties. It is a very2 bad habit. Lets muhasabah ourselves. We have to learn to be more patient, starting from........ NOW!! We should not let our emotions get the better of us. It is certainly difficult for us to look at the tragedies of the world today and not feel sad, BUT, as believers, we are called to put our trust in Allah. We must continue to put our trust in Him and remember, Amar Makruf Nahi Munkar..

Do'a for Today :

وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلا َقُوَّة َإِلا َّ بِالله
Sesungguhnya tiada daya-upaya dan tiada kekuatan melainkan dengan Allah

Not forgetting, always be grateful with WHATEVER we have and say, THANK YOU, ALLAH!! Well, Alhamdulillah..

Song of the day : Thank You Allah, by Raihan

Assalamualaikum,

Can I speak about anything here? err- well yeah. But of course I'll somehow relate it to something.. like an idea i guess, so that I wouldn't be talking non-sense at all like in my blog. First of all, I'd like to ask the founder of this blog page to kindly remove the Group committee member bit. And I suggest instead of talking only among ourselves about Islam or school or whatever it is, why don't we open this blog to almost everyone in this world perhaps? well, if there is something we wanted to talk about our school like, social problems... or so ever, we can always include it as part of this blog page right? I mean, it is possible to classify posts into their genres, so we classify posts from students of our school and then we can comment upon it, or bring it into a real discussion during our meeting sessions.

I really don't think that this blog is going to work if we are hoping for someone among us to update it because we, I mean ib-srikedu bloggers don't even update their own blogs except for some people and for some reasons and we are hoping for them (again for only for certain people) to update this blog? I think my words make the most sense. Haa..

Well I think I'll start posting first after the founder. I've been watching a movie which I wouldn't be telling you guys what movie, but I've been watching it like 4 times? yeahh and i'm pretty much sure you can guess. Well, I just wanted to make so short so I'll go straight to the point. I found that it is very cool if you can wear armors, equipped with shield and swords on your back, and you're riding a horse in the middle of a war against the antagonist. But then I realize that nowadays people use Kevlar, shotguns, snipers, jet planes during combat. So where's the fun. yeaaa.. there's no more fun anymore.

We are just ordinary citizens and I'm not sure how many of us are brave enough to be occupied in a war, even if you ask me hell I would say yes. The thing is that, war nowadays are a for-sure-die one laa if you're in the range of a sniper that could probably hit from 2km far. It doesn't evoke your passion or your strength or your or your courage (I just can't find the right word) when you can just kill a person by putting a small force on your pointing finger onto a trigger.

Owh, this is getting too far. I'm about to be out from here, so I would just say that instead of joining a group of an army in a combat, there is another way to actually 'ber'Jihad. (whats the verb to use before Jihad? owh my English really sucks)

which is, 'BERJIHAD MELAWAN HAWA NAFSU'
